Here I would like to evaluate how despite always enjoying, liking, and being a philosophical humanities type-girl; ultimately, I'm STEM.
If I could electronically make a Venn Diagram, I would.
My humanities qualities:
I love music (both classical for piano, and general pop/whatever else to listen to, all the time). And I do listen to music all the time. I'm listening to music right now.
I also love dancing
I have a deep appreciation for painted arts
I'm obviously fond of the art of writing (as if being proven right now; I have also always wanted to be, and am, an author)
I believe in music, dancing, art, and writing's ability for expression; to express human things/feelings that cannot be expressed in words
Love the art of photography
I'm basically a patron of the arts lol (Catherine de' Medici whooo? High School Sophomore AP Euro knowlege locked in)
Into crafts
Hopeless romantic
Content but also evoke a sadness that I can tap into
Think a lot (and then write about it on my blog); philosophical
Where I stray away from humanities:
Liberal-ness
I place greater emphasis on logic, not emotion
Even where emotion does come up in my life, I still use logic
In these types of classes, I always bring the more logical side to the discussion; I can't help it, it's genuinely the way my brain was wired.
And of course, it's only right, to end with:
My STEM qualities:
Logic
Great desire to learn
Great thirst for knowledge
University/school is my thing
My greatest goal
Career woman
Very motivated
Focused
No distractions
Priorities
Want to know how things work!
Challenge
Hate myself
Genuinely enjoy all things STEM: Chemistry, biology, calculus, mathematics, physics, ENGINEERING
Love the atmosphere of STEM (engineering especially)
Love the mindsets
Critical thinking
Problem solving
Anayltical
Strategic
All/different perspectives
Desire to make a difference and this is the way I think I'm meant to do that
Why is this starting to sound like a resumé!😆
If I had a humanities major though, and I had to write a bunch of essays, I don't know if I would still like it so much. Like maybe what makes it so great is the fact that it's a treat and break from my STEM, where there isn't just one right answer, but many? And the philosophical part of my brain gets to open up? But I'd go crazy if I was anything but STEM.
