Christian: choice or chance?

The following blog post doesn't necessarily has to pertain to Christianity only, but more like it: all religions; piety in general.

  1. Is religion a choice?

  2. Or is it an essence? Something that either is there, or not? It's there by chance? Or it's not there by chance? But always by chance...is it there or not. Like love, like feelings. You are not in control, of whether it is there or not. You might be blessed, you might be honored, that you have it...is this some sort of predestination?

I don't believe in predestination though. I believe that everyone person has a choice about whether to believe in God or not. Whether it's truly a mix, I don't know. But I can never accept, nor do I believe, that it's simply chance. There is a choice there. Almost with anything, there's a choice. On choice on far you're willing to go...:

  1. How far you're willing to explore faiths, until you find a faith

  2. How far you're willing to explore a faith, until you come to some kind of conclusion, for instance, that is the true/correct faith

  3. How far you're willing to go once you're within a faith...how faithful you will be...

At a certain point, we cross the barrier of No Return. I don't know what happens at this barrier, but I believe in it. If you have done everything by exploring all the faiths, and exploring one faith, and still aren't convinced (i.e. reading the Bible, Holy Scriptures, about Saints, talking to priests, going to services...)

...

Is something not right?
