competitive with school/school whole personality

Similarly to how the people I surround myself with are people who alike to me in some way, like being Orthodox, for example, (which led to the whole, people thinking I’m super religious and me just thinking “I’m normal what do you mean what are you then? Not normal? A weirdo?” realisation) is also similar to how the people I surround myself with, my friends, are all people who care a lot about school. (Mostly). Obviously saying all would be a little…I don’t know, exaggerated? Or perhaps just not exactly right? In part it makes PERFECT sense. If I take engineering classes, then obviously, the people in those classes, I’d sure hope so care about school enough. Otherwise, I’m not sure how they would survive, how they got there, why they would stay, or how they would survive.
Engineering, eh, it’s one of those things, that if you’re not passionate about it….it’s not going to work out. I have yet to see this theory fail. I’m always excited to people watch, analyze, and psychologize (is that really a word?) people…like cases, seeing if this works, works this way, works out…
Right now I have a case…I’m curious to see if it’ll work out. Aka, if my theory will work, and prove to be correct. Yet again. It has yet to be revoked! Say there’s someone who’s just mild about engineering…will it work out? We shall see! Time will tell!
But back to the friends around me who care a lot, besides just engineering kids, there are definitely lots and lots of people who care about school. All of them around me. As in, if they’re not passionate about school, I probably don’t associate with them much. Not only do we not/ we would not relate, but we just don’t associate simply because we don’t associate. We don’t run into each other. We run in different circles. Whether it’s engineering (engineering example makes sense again as an example here) or any type of other person who’s passionate about school, has goals in life, and that whole gist.
Although school is very, very important to me, perhaps most, people who make their personality about nothing other than school highly bother me. People who literally study all the time, and make all their life/what they talk about, about studying, when they just don’t need to study that much or complain that much, highly bother me.
Like, please get a life other than school. It’s one thing if you’re forced to do that much school, because it simply takes that much time, but people who can’t even do ANYTHING but school and every time you see them it’s “let me disappear to go studying in like 20 minutes…” and “I have an exam…” it’s just that…it’s like…they can’t commit to anything other than school, and can’t go for a day without making every living thing and event in it about school. That’s what bothers me. Like I try to get my work then and then, actually do other things! And if I’m at an event, I don’t want to be talking about school, or complaining about school, but focus on the event itself, whatever it is! And then it’s always these people, who talk about nothing but school and also make it seem like it’s the only thing in their life, the only thing their life is about, and how this brings up an air of elevation and superiority.
I hope this makes sense. It’s just about sharing an annoyance I have. It’s not that I don’t condone school being important, quite on the contrary, I understand, I think it should be! But there are limits to everything. And life is still something that needs to be lived. And there is a LOT more to life, a lot, than just school. Please, if someone’s personality is about any one thing, it’s probably always a bad thing, no matter what it is. And annoying.
This also ties into the “having different types of friends” please…people need to have fun, and I need people to have fun with (not to say school is not fun, but it can’t be the other thing, you would go crazy! For one, and there’s so much more to life! (I say that again)).
