Different music moods

I need to write something separate about my music taste, and music playlists, and going through them, but this blog post will be about different music moods.

  1. First of all, sad music all the way, all the time. It especially fits with school, physics, suffering, fall, winter, school semester starting, rain, snow, or bad weather. Fits my mood all the time, and any time. I bring out my true Russian and Dostoevsky. I literally have a playlist that is called “fall/winter depresion arc.” I love it so much. It has 272 songs, and almost 2000 views.

  2. But sometimes, summer does call for a happier music playlist. Like maybe it’s just the sun rays and better weather. I like warmer weather more (but I like sad music more, and the weather mentioned above suits that more). Randomly last year, I got the idea and motivation to listen to Madison Beer and Sabrina Carpenter, who I have never listened to before. They are basically my happy/summer music. But also get ready and hype, because they’re just pretty girls who make hype hot girl music. Tate McRae also goes into this category. I love Tate McRae’s music so much. And she’s so young, only 22, amazing. Literally so young. I want to find out more about her. So successful for her age. She’s amazing, and I think it’s so cool that she’s a dancer too. Therefore I connect to her in more ways than one.

    1. Sabrina Carpenter and Tate McRae are the ones who make music more, and have been doing it for longer. Tate has some old songs (still good!) and Sabrina clearly comes from a musical/theater kid/Disney background- that’s how she got an in to the singer world. I don’t know how Tate did it, it’s amazing! Dancing, maybe? I know she was a guest on Dance Moms. Madison I don’t see making music as much, and she doesn’t have as much.

    2. But Sabrina and Tate literally slay so much. Every recent album is actually amazing. And they’re all very recent, too. Tate’s 2023 album “think later” and her 2025 album “so close to what” are amazing.

      1. My favorites from “think later”:

        1. “cut my hair”

        2. “we’re not alike”

      2. And from “So Close To What”

        1. “Revolving door”

        2. “Dear god”

        3. “Sports car” (first one I ever heard, so good)

        4. “Signs”

        5. “It’s ok I’m ok” (so hype, so good)

        6. “No I’m not in love” (also so good)

        7. “Means I care” (the amount of times I sing and quote this one, it’s so stuck in my head)

      3. And for Sabrina, “Short n’ Sweet” (2024) this album is straight-up summer in an album

        1. “Good graces” (so hype, so girlie)

        2. “Sharpest Tool” (so pretty)

        3. “Bed Chem” (a fun hype song)

        4. “Espresso” (probably very overplayed but very catchy and iconic)

        5. “Dumb & Poetic” (I like the vibes)

        6. “Juno” (a happy sweet song!)

        7. “Don’t Smile” (also very pretty)

        8. “15 minutes” (It’s literally about a productive queen what’s not to love)

        9. “Busy Woman (also about a productive woman but still very sweet)

      4. And “Man’s Best Friend” (2025, busy woman fr)

        1. “Tears” (it’s so pretty and catchy, and I like the lyrics)

        2. “Sugar Talking” (by far the best and prettiest from this album)

        3. “Nobody’s son” (hype and I like the lyrics/what the song’s about)

        4. “Never Getting Laid” (pretty)

        5. “When Did You Get Hot?” (Hype)

      5. Some older songs for Sabrina that I really like:

        1. “Sue me” just such a good confident song, and it’s so so pretty in the beginning. I love the way it starts and the beat and chorus is amazing. Makes me think of my annual balls that I go to.

        2. “bet u wanna” again a confidence song.

        3. “opposite” I like what this song is about and the lyrics

    3. A big theme with these hype summer songs is they’re about feeling confident, so it’s suiting in a city, in a university with peers your ages, with so many different people, so much inspiration, but still wanting to be your authentic self. And for walking to class on your journey of your pursuit of education, while walking down the street, put together, and listening to music and feeling like you’re the main character.

    4. But the reason why I really like sad music is because the lyrics are always so much better, like actually meaningful. But that’s what I’ve learned about the hype songs. I still like the lyrics a lot (they have to be good artists, though, it’s not any type of song that I will like). But of course, they will never ever hit the way sad songs do (and Russian music).

    5. Some examples of my sad music artists:

      1. David Kushner! My favorites from his Dichotomy (AMAZING) album (2024)

        1. I mean literally the entire album, but my absolute favorite is “Poison” I could listen to this song on repeat. Some other good ones though:

        2. “Love is Going to Kill Us” real

        3. “Buried at Sea”

        4. “Heaven Sees”

        5. “Darkerside” (so good)

        6. “Saving Your Soul”

        7. “Daylight” (iconic and famous)

      2. His songs are very meaningful, and a lot of the time about God, and the devil. Like dark, deep, philosophical (he’s very philosophical, like my blog!) Christian music.

      3. And from his “20 Years From Now”

        1. “I Wanna Get to Heaven”

        2. “Beautiful Things Don’t Ask For Attention” (a beautiful meaning)

        3. “Empty Bench” (so sad, but so good, when I realized the meaning I cry)

        4. “Safe in My Arms” (such a beautiful, cute meaning)

      4. Shaya Zambora is similar artist:

        1. “Pretty Little Devil”

        2. “Unveil” (the first song I heard by him, so good)

        3. “Sinner”

        4. “No Love For A Sinner”

      5. Isak Danielson, “Remember to Remember Me” (2020)

        1. “I Don’t Need Your Love” real

      6. “Tomorrow Never Came” (2021)

        1. “Almost Heaven” (very pretty, sounds like its from heaven lowkey)

        2. “Face My Fears” (really good one)

      7. “King of a Tragedy” (2022) (Probably my favorite album)

        1. “King of a Tragedy” very slay song

        2. “Him” so good

        3. “Good Things Come to Those Who Wait” such a good song

        4. “Fifty Ways” romance song

        5. “Fire Burns You Cold” romance song but dark aesthetic

      8. And then obviously there’s a plethora of sad Russian songs.

  3. Classical music, like Rachmaninoff

    1. I don’t really listen to classical music, though, I mostly like playing it on the piano, I was trying to learn that Rachmaninoff prelude (but it’s hard, and I don’t have piano lessons anymore).

      1. Especially “Prelude in G Minor, Op. 23 No. 5” is probably my favorite album

      2. Passacaglia

      3. My Sweet and Tender Beast - Waltz by Eugen Doga

    2. Hans Zimmer

      1. Oogway Ascends (I listen to the 10 hour version and can listen to it anytime, I use it for “meditation” and calming down from my plethora of problems)

      2. any music from Kung Fu Panda

      3. “Now We Are Free” from Gladiator and any music in general
