Friends that respect

Was thinking today and realized how the friends I lost that I used to get so sad over losing actually didn't respect me, and the friends I have now do.


In a way I know it's easier said than done but that right there should be enough for me to realize and say that there's literally nothing to be sad over there.


We choose our friends, why would we choose people who don't respect us? It makes no sense. "Love everyone," sure, but you don't gotta do that to yourself. You can still love. You have a choice.


And respect shouldn't even be earned with friends. Respect should be inherent; as you get to know the person, it's earned anyway.
