Group setting

People act so strange in groups. Obviously there's the psychological concept of social loathing.
But I'm not even speaking in the academic sense.
I'm speaking of the average friend group.
People act way different in a group setting than one-on-one.
It's sad if they change completely who they are (I don't like that and it's unstable).
But I think in small ways everybody changes and it's actually quite understandable.
It's always weird when you're closer to some people than others in a group. At the same time, it's totally natural, unavoidable, and just a part of life.
It's always weird when there's something you're thinking about, and you would say it to one person in the group, but not another, or not everyone, and so what do you end up doing? Not saying anything at all. That's a change already. So then you just sit there awkwardly looking at everybody with these thoughts.
