High school vs. Uni

High school:

  • You're viewed as a child (dumb, doesn't know anything, needs to be walked through through everything)

    • Even in senior year, as you're getting ready to head off to university, it's exciting, but senioritis exists because you just want to get out of this view already

    • It's like the cognitive dissonance theory, where how you feel, doesn't match up with what is. And so you want to leave- then it'll match how you feel.

  • Your parents get sent your report card

  • You see the same people everyday

  • You have the ability to build a close relationship with your teacher

  • Class sizes are small, you must pay attention

  • Teachers will nag you about assignments; they see you in person

  • Rules rules rules, so many rules

    • So strict

  • "You'll need this in college" -no you won't

  • The tardiness/late stuff is insane

  • Strict teachers

  • The year drags on forever; the quarters

  • Year-long classes

  • You likely drive to school in some sort of fashion

  • You walk from class to class, so that stays the same, but not far! In the same building, and you might think it's far but...lol...just wait.

  • You hate the bus

  • School ends in JUNE

Uni:

  • You're viewed as an adult (No one walks you through anything)

    • You have to figure out everything yourself

  • You have a lot more freedom

    • You can do whatever you want and whenever you want

    • You can skip class (shouldn't, but doesn't mean that you can't)

  • You also have a lot more responsibility (because of a combination of the two points above)

    • It's like, "With great power, comes great responsibility" -lol

  • It's your own freedom & responsibility, for example, to check your grades and make sure you're passing your classes. In high school, you're forced more to check your grades; at the ends of quarters, to double check if stuff was graded, if stuff is missing, because of report cards...etc. In uni, all of that disappears.

  • You have the opportunity to become independent in all ways

    • Feel independent

    • Act independently

  • You see new people you never knew existed or went to your university everyday (though, this depends on the size; but in general, universities are still astronomically bigger than high schools).

  • You might have a semi-close relationship to your professor, but only if you go to office hours.

  • Lecture halls are ginormous, no one will notice if you sleep

  • Professors might tell you about assignments, they might not

    • It is your responsibility to stay updated with assignments

    • You have to see when they're due and do them

  • Laid back

  • No one cares if you go on your phone or straight-up leave- the professor won't even look at you

  • Chill professors

  • The semester goes by so fast!

  • Semester classes

  • Go quick

  • You're walking everywhere; you're straight up a pedestrian through and through

    • At first you're not used to it; soon a 30 minute walk is nothing and a car ride is a magical apparatus

    • Google maps/Apple maps is your best friend

  • You love the bus

  • Schools gets out in MAY

    • extra month of summer yay

  • You're suffering more

International Women’s Day

Dear blog, I have not had a very happy day today for personal reasons, and not to mention, it’s probably only going to get worse, as I was really tired from the Daylight Savings today (I hate Daylight

Too late

This is not my title, but another title of another AJR song. Though it looks and sounds just like my own title, doesn’t it? I guess that’s just another sign of how well the songs, titles, lyrics, and

There’s a series of AJR songs that I think are a little bit more summery- so I might write about them as we get closer to summer. Even if, right now, it’s March (March 5th as I’m writing this), so lik
