Hello blog!!:)
A lot has changed, as you can see by the title: I started university. And I have to say, university fits me a lot.
The educational and curious atmosphere...people who want to learn, who want to further/pursue their higher education. Well it is a little damaged by the fact that it is a party school...as I have come to realize, but it's okay! The first part still stands.
And what else...I like being independent. I don't really miss home.... at least certain aspects I don't for SURE.
I think my ease of adjustment:
can be attributed to a couple things.
One, my predisposition of being independent and home situation.
Two, I'm used to living with people because I had to do it in camp, so that's not a problem at all.
And overall, I think I tend to embrace change. A change of scenery is always good for me.
Some things that I like
are indeed the changes of scenery. I like being able to study in ten different places at once, all with their own perks (proximity to a café, snacks, atmosphere, views, etc).
I like how easy (and even forceful) it is to be social! Constantly being surrounded by friends and family...I get it! I get what it's all about. I can see the negative side effects, too, of course, but I can also understand now why and how people say that university is the greatest time of their lives.
To be surrounded by people of your age all the time. I mean, you can't even tell who's who; who's in what year. It doesn't matter anymore. There's not that same stigma and distinction as there is in high school.
THE PEOPLE IN GENERAL- a huge public university is a great place for people-watching. I get to inevitably see, watch, and analyze people all the time, without even trying. And with this, I have some more pros.
For anyone into fashion, it's a huge fashion inspo hotspot. Especially the fact that you're being surrounded by people of YOUR age and generation.
Also, I loveee knowing what people's majors are! It's so interesting; it's like a mystery to solve about each person. A huge chunk of their personality so easily definable by one word. You can tell a lot about a person just by hearing the simple words of what their major is insert major.
The university memes are the BEST. I finally get them now. And the ones about specific majors are genuinely so entertaining and funny; I love them. I love the concepts of majors, as I've mentioned and you clearly get by now.
I AM OBSESSED WITH EDUCATION. The way that things are explained so much better. Like actually, where does this formula come from? These questions are ANSWERED, and I am CHALLENGED by attempting to understand - it all.
