Mountains

Why do I like them so much? Good question!!! Let’s try to reason through it together…

Literally just big pointy triangle lumps. With snow on top, a lot of the time.

But I really do love them.

Something about staring at them, having them in my view at any point, or zoning out at them. They’re so majestic. Mystical. Almost as if they possess some holiness quality. In a way everything does, right? Since it was created by God.

There’s something about them just being there, unmovable, no matter what, they’re just there. Something comforting about the stability.

And obviously they’re just beautiful. Especially when they’re not “perfect” but perfect in their own way. Not perfect by conventional standards, maybe that’s what I like so much. They don’t need to be perfect triangles, in fact, they’re even more beautiful when they’re asymmetric with jagged edges. And isn’t that symbolic of life, everything, and people themselves?

The view of the mountain is great, is provides a great landscape (for animals too), and great opportunity for sport. You can climb, you can drive, you can ski. All of it is very scenic.

From the top of a mountain, the view is great too. It’s satisfying to climb up. Both the journey and destination is great. All of it is great.

Up there, it’s so creepy and mysterious. Yes!!! Mountains are MYSTERIOUS. They provide so much scope for exploration. Up there, it’s foggy maybe, there’s cute little trees, there’s animals. The alpine tundra is such a cool biome! With its own precious special animals and plants, so delicate that if you step on them it can take hundreds of years to grow back. Its colder too, the air pressure is different, everything is different, everything changes and is its own special way, the change makes you more aware, and it adds to the creepy/mysterious effect the colder fresher air and pressure change. You breathe better in that fresh cold mountain air. You’re more aware of the mountains’ solemnness. There’s a certain solemnness and sadness to mountains. Mountains inspire that. They inspire beauty. And deep thoughts. The mountains themself are a comfort, it’s like they understand all your issues, all of the world’s issues and can solve them?

Their stability and immovability is also peaceful and preserves peace. Switzerland?

They also come in so many forms, sizes, and shapes. They can be bare, foggy, covered by trees completely…which is really pretty…because it’s super green…greenery…super nature-y. Reminds me of the Moana mother island thing.
