When you have shame, that’s when you know you’re doing something wrong. That’s when you know you’re starting to believe something; you’re starting to realize something.
When you can’t even write down what’s bothering you because that’s how stupid it is, that’s how you know you gotta change.
But the thing about change is, even if you feel as if it’s gotta happen, it might not happen instantly. Well, you can have the mindset, but it may not actually occur as easily as the mindset switch. Things take time, in a way.
I am thankful to God so much on this day for this note, because, I am starting to understand what it is to believe and trust! It is that moment when you feel shame, or that moment when you know you’ve got to change, or that moment when you know you don’t need to prove anything anymore, you can just be free to believe.
Like just right now, I felt that moment of shame and knowing I can’t obsess over these things anymore, because doing anything too much is a sin.
But tell me, then, why, if I know it’s wrong, and I want to change, why is that change still not occurring? Why that just must be the sneaky devil, always doing anything to prevent my happiness. But the devil always loses. The devil always loses. No matter how long he persists at it.
You have got to do what you know is right. You have got to trust. You have got to stop. You have got to believe. You have got to be free.
You have got to do all of these things.
