The calmness of Orthodoxy (A Poem (because why not...))

Updated: Jan 17

A picture of me reading this book in the middle of camping lol. Loved the title of this chapter, loved the message. Remember when my priest talked about that exact quote. 7th August, 2024. Added on 17th January, 2024.

The calmness that Orthodoxy gives you in poem form:

The calmness that Orthodoxy gives you is that,

It is not in your hands

Let go and breathe

It is in God's hands

Someone much more capable than you are or whether will be

So let it go

For He is the creator of you and all things

The one who gave you the privilege of existing and doing all that you do

You will not understand everything,

nor do you need to.

For it is not for you to understand.

In your life,

The only person you should judge is yourself.

You should not judge other people,

for it is not for you to judge.

But,

if anyone,

then God.

Be strict with yourself,

not others.

Stop trying to control things,

you do not have control over.

Nor should you.

Be humble, not proud.

For you did not make yourself, God did.

You can be proud of yourself for an accomplishment,

but never forget,

it is God who gave you that talent,

who put you on this planet Earth.

And He is glad you are using it.

Be selfless,

give everything for other people,

while at the same time remaining strict with yourself,

judging no one but yourself,

and having goals.

For God did not put you on this planet for no reason.
