The interesting balance of tomboy vs. girly

Can you be both? Yes, you can definitely be both. In the same person though, the two can arguably pose quite contrasting qualities.

Differences/compare and contrast:

What’s more tomboy?

1. Competitive spirit- I had a good friend growing up who was friends with a lot of boys and she says it was easier to be friends with boys

   1. (no drama)

   2. (something my mom has also said)

   3. (then, no getting offended easily/stupidly, at stupid reasons)

2. Lack of “emotion” maybe? Though I don’t know if I would argue that’s necessarily “girly” as much as it is just separate human temperamental.

3. But perhaps being more logical- is more “boy”-like (unless it also goes in the separate human qualities/tempermental. To be honest, it’s probably a little bit of both).

4. Not caring that much about, liking, having a lot of, wearing makeup

5. Rap music?

6. Darker colors? Black? Orange?

What’s more girly?

1. Dresses/skirts/heels

2. Makeup, having tons of it

3. Starbucks

4. Pink drink

5. Pink

6. Blush, highlighter

7. Some things are just so inherently girly, like an eyelash curler

   1. Lipgloss, lipstick, chapstick, lip oil……….

   2. Having all these routines and things to do for maintenance like skincare routine, plucking eyebrows, epilating, etc.

   3. Or the niche little things, like eyebrow gel

   4. However arguably these could be just maintenance, not necessarily girly, a stereotype in a way, a preference in another, perhaps more important, way…
