The topics aren't really talked about

Maybe a reason that I felt compelled to write a blog is because in day-to-day life, those topics aren't really talked about.

And yet... it feels like they should be.

I think about these things and they occupy my mind.

But the idea of talking about them seems slightly awkward, to bring up.

I think in day-to-day life, people rarely philosophize. They mostly just talk about what's happening in the moment. Current life events such as things happening with other people (friends, etc), or what's happening in their life. Or simple things like what they did that day. They also prioritize stories that are entertaining, fun, or funny. But maybe this is just one culture, one time period, or even, one generation. I say, "people don't just philosophize (in daily conversation)" however in Chekhov's stories, that's exactly what they do all the time. And I get that it could be more like they're flaunting or trying to; they want whatever they're talking about to be philosophizing because they like the sound or idea of that; they like the aesthetic. But still. It still seems to be closer than today. The only time I feel like I'm philosophizing with my friends is if something really dilemma-ic is happening to me. So basically, it all comes down to us, and what's happening to us. That's what people talk about. And it's genuinely hard, for perhaps all of us, to talk about anything else. I feel like it's easier, and we'd rather, just stay silent than attempt to engage in more intellectual conversation. Maybe for the sake of not being or looking weird.

The weird thing about regret

The weird thing about regret is that it only hits you after the fact. Why is it like this? Isn't the fact that it's only hitting you...
