"They are the easiest company in the world"

She was talking about: children.
As someone who wants to be a pediatric surgeon, who wants to go into pediatrics and help kids, I have to agree.
Some people hate people. But love animals.
That is not my story. Adults are meh but children are adorable.
In some ways, we all have a lot to learn from children.
Innocence. Purposely shield yourself from the bad things in this world. That DOESN'T mean be naive. It means don't be stupid, be extra smart. Know what's bad, like a kid always do, and purposely don't engage with it.
Honesty. Children don't lie, it is adults that do.
Children have better morals. How embarrassing it is that they know right or wrong better than adults do sometimes. Why do we forget such important life lessons as we grow up?
I'm not saying never grow up, but never forget what it's like to be a kid either (that's a different blog post).
I full-heartedly agree with Daphne.
After spending so much time around adults, it's a breath of fresh air to be around children.
Sure, I can't swear, I have to filter what I say, I have to think more before I speak, I have to avoid topics that might be important to me, because they are just not age-appropriate.
But if it's just temporary company, it can be so much easier sometimes than with adults.
I don't have to get disgusted by things adults say. I don't have to wonder every five seconds, "is this person lying to me?" I don't have to worry about someone talking behind my back. The kid, if anything, would just say it straight to my face. My style.
I think spending time with kids is interesting. Because for someone who really enjoys the topic of psychology, kid psychology is especially interesting.
Cause adult psychology is just like...the moral of the story...adults are nasty. Take Freud for example.
But kids? They are underdeveloped. They simply don't have the capacity to understand some things yet. I find it fascinating how children can learn, adapt, better than anyone else.
How affected are they by their experiences?
How much of what happens to us as kids, affects us in our adult lives in way we don't even know? (spooky).
Of course by things like trauma, but maybe even smaller ways.
I truly think children are so strong. Everything is harder at a younger age. Life is so hard to figure out, especially as a kid. You have so much to figure out, from everything, to everything. Everything around you. Your life. Who you are. How stuff works.
I think there's still so much research to do. And I'm excited to be a part of it.
